He was predeceased by: his parents, J. T. Downey and Donna Mozelle Downey; and his siblings, James Elvin "Bo" Downey and Barbara Elaine "Jane" Popham. He is survived by: his wife Karen Wimpey Downey; his children, Billy Lee Downey (Kristin) and Anna Walls; his grandchildren, Kaydin, Hunter, Nathan, Chase and Berkley; and his siblings, Dora Little, Dorothy Wilson (Cecil), Martha Paschall, Mary Dockall (Gerald), Jack Downey, Jerry Downey, Linda, Cotton, Katherine "Sissy" Clifford (Trevor), Roy Kyle "Bubba" Downey (Jan) and Glen David "Butch" Downey (Jerri Anne). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and many chosen children and grandchildren.
