He was predeceased by: his father George Shimek. He is survived by: his mother Joan Shimek of Alvin, Texas; his wife Linda Shimek of Moravia, Texas; his children, Jenna Leihardt (Travis) of Schulenburg, Texas and Darren Shimek (Cassie) of Tomball, Texas; his siblings, Pamela Thrash of Louisiana, Sandra Plaisance (Brian) of Houston, Texas, Patrick Shimek (Donna) of Manvel and Mark Shimek (Cynthia) of Schulenburg, Texas; and his granddaughters, Adriana, Tessa Leihardt and Cameron Shimek.
The family requests donations be made to: Moravia Catholic Church in Moravia, Texas; or Hospice of South Texas, Hallettsville, Texas; or a charity of one's choice.
