James Stanzel Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Stanzel of Schulenburg, Texas, who passed away on June 25, 2024, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Stanzel and Stephanie Stanzel; his wife Helen Migl; and his siblings, Leo Stanzel and Anita Stanzel Srubar.

He is survived by: his children, Janice Kana (John), Jimmie Stanzel (Gina Winnie) and Sandra Stanzel (Michelle McMurry); his grandchildren, Jordan Ayres (Zach), Jillian Kana, Jacqueline Kana, Jayme Kana and McKenzy Winnie; his great grandchildren, Madeline Moseley, Henry "Hank" Ayres, Cooper James Ayres and Tripp Patterson Ayres; his brother Ted Stanzel; and his sisters-in-law, Bea Krejci, Patsy Masek and Edna Migl. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church or School, the American Legion, or Schulenburg Volunteer Fire Department.
