He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Valicek Besetsny of Schulenburg; his children, Patsy Canion of Schulenburg, Annette Walker of Schulenburg, Lynn Heller (David) of Schulenburg and David Besetsny (Penny Beiersdorfer); his daughter-in-law Pam Besetsny of St. John; and his siblings, Jeanette Terrell of Austin and James Besetsny of Victoria. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.
