He was predeceased by: his wife Bernice; his daughter Marcia; his parents, John Pokluda and Katherine Pokluda; his nephew Kenneth; and his brother-in-law Allan Wiedemann.
He is survived by: his children, Theresa (Michael Pavlica), Deborah (Ewald Friedrich, Jr.), Richard (Kristin Pokluda) and Monica (Lee Pflughaupt); his grandchildren, Janice, Kyle Krystynik, Brandon, Mackenzie Pavlica, Justin, Rebecca Pavlica, Macy Friedrich (Lane), Madison Pokluda, Megan Pflughaupt and Evan Pflughaupt; his great grandchildren, Emily, Aubrey, Noah Kristynik and Reese Pavlica; and his siblings, Helen Wiedemann, Anna, Michael Fishbeck, Patrick and Brenda Pokluda.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of South Texas, St. Rose Catholic Church, Schulenburg Regency Nursing Home Activity Fund, or a charity of one's choice.
