He is survived by: his wife Janice Rae Kolbert; his daughter Cheryl Kolbert; his adoptive daughter Joy Curbow; and his sister Diane Arscott of Arlington Heights. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Knights of Columbus.
