He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph John Smierciak and Catherine Mycek Smierciak; his siblings, Elizabeth Kuchinski and Frank Edward Smierciak; and his sister-in-law Irmgard Anita Smierciak.
He is survived by: his significant other Irmgard Anita Brockschlager; his sons, Joe, Mike and Tom; his daughters-in-law, Laura, Norma and Jessica; and his grandchildren, Michael, Chase and Taylor Smierciak.
