He was predeceased by: his parents, Gaston Simmons and Ellie Beard (Pitmon); his daughter Rebecca Lynn Davis; and his sister Marjorie Carney. He is survived by: his wife Mattye; his children, Glenn Allen (Blanca) of Leander and Kayla; and his siblings, Myrtle Anderson of Starkville, Mary Brackman of Hattiesburg, Edith Polk of Columbia, Gaston Beard of Columbia and Ralph Beard of Purvis. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
