She was predeceased by: her parents, Marshall Starr and Eula Lee Starr; her daughter Jennifer Absheer Varelans; and her siblings, Jimmy Starr (Minnie), Jerry Starr, Robert Starr (Linda), Della Jo Shaw and Catherine Starr Snowden.
She is survived by: her husband Ernest Rawlin Absheer; her daughters, Tamela Brown (Christopher) and Sandy Anderson (Paul); her son-in-law Mike Varelans; her grandchildren, Lindsey, Ashley (Mitch), Kendall (LC), Gillian and Donovan; and her great grandchildren, Olivia, Zachary, Aubrey, Marshall and Atticus Lee.
Betty requested that donations on her behalf be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
