She was predeceased by: her parents, Oscar Thompson and Linnie Thompson (Petty). She is survived by: her children, Charles Marshall (Venetia), Carol Ballard and Jeneia Harmon; and her grandchildren, Tamara Reno (Russell), Jamie Killian (James), Matthew Redd (Checole), Jessica Marshall, Calvin Marshall, Nicholas Hollingsworth and Ashley Harville (Paul). She is also survived by seventeen great grandchildren.
