He is survived by: his wife Florinda S. Hernandez; his children, Martin Hernandez, Jr. (Nereida), Israel Hernandez (Rebecca), Brenda Lourdes Hernandez (Lorenzo) and Maria Florinda Hernandez (Hector Ortiz); and his siblings, Ernesto Hernandez, Antonia Puentes and Gerardo Hernandez. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
