She was predeceased by: her husband Angel Garza; her siblings, Roble Rodriguez, Eva Rodriguez, Petra Mejorado, Antonio Salazar and Matias; and her son Miguel Angel Mendez.

She is survived by: her children, Christina Cortez, Ernestina Garza and Jose Manuel Garza; and her sister Tomasa Barbee.
