He is survived by: his mother Guadalupe Ruiz Hernandez; his wife Maria Nelia Hernandez; his children, Alethea Garcia (Rene), Tirza L. (Jose Ruiz, III) and Marcos J. Hernandez; his grandchildren, Analyssa R. Garcia, Araci R. Garcia, Orion S. Sanchez, Ava R. Ruiz, Andrew Ruiz and Athena E. Hernandez; his siblings, Lydia Salinas (Robert), Noe Hernandez (Mary), Juanita Hernandez and Abigail Hernandez; his son-in-law Rene Garcia, Sr.; his brother-in-law Greg Garza; his nephews, Robert "Robby" Salinas, Jr., Noe Hernandez, Jr., Alfonso "Poncho" Hernandez and Aaron Mireles; and his grandson Rene Garcia, Jr.. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
