He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Beatrice Vittonel; his father Rev. G. W. Burrell, Sr.; his sister Pattye Burrell Turner; his brothers-in-law, Lonnie Turner, Sr. and Alvin Senette; his mother Bessie M. Burrell; his children, Casey Davis (Rod), David Burrell Jr. (Brenda) and Troy Edmond, Sr. (Crystal); his grandchildren, Amara Burrell, Aden Burrell, Peyton Davis, Preston Davis, Chase Davis, Andre Edmond, Troy Edmond Jr., Chasity Edmond and Layla Edmond; and his siblings, Robert Burrell (Carolyn), Noma Roberson (Willie), Billie Floyd (Freddie), George W. Burrell Jr. (Charlene), Edna Lowery (Ernest), Julie Franklin (Earl), Sylvia Burke and Hallie Senette. He was also cherished by many brother in-laws, sister in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, special friends, family, and relatives.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations in David's honor to The Santa Rosa Food Pantry at 6571 FM 970, Florence TX 76527-4473.
