Cordell Hechler Obituary
Cordell Harris Hechler 2000 - 2017 Cordell Harris Hechler, 17, of Santa Fe, TX passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2017. He was born March 2, 2000 in Nassau Bay, TX. His parents are Wayne W. Hechler and Connie L. (Dotson) Hechler.
Cordell was an avid motorcycle rider. He started riding at a young age, riding behind his mother on the back of the bike. As he grew into a young man, he would be seen riding the bike with his mother, only she would be the one riding behind him on the back of the bike.
He also enjoyed skateboarding and hanging out with his girlfriends Alyssa, his sisters and his brother, and his many friends. He was very proud of his many accomplishments, pins and awards he received as a cadet at Lyman Ward Military Academy, such as marksmanship, sword drill, and honor guard. He was selected to be a cadet leader upon returning for his Senior year and recently attended Leaders Camp in preparation.
Cordell was also a former student at Santa Fe High School where he enjoyed the auto tech class. Cordell spent many hours with “Uncle” Mike Dotson working on motorcycles, 4 wheelers, boats and his truck. He learned many trades from his Uncle Mike.
The memories that he created will be cherished by all that loved and knew him. Cordell was preceded in death by his brother, Marshall Moinat; grandfather, Ernest Glenn Dotson; and grandparents, Manuel and Irene Hechler. He is survived by his mother, Connie Hechler; father, Wayne Hechler; grandmother, Bonnie Dotson; brother, Dallas Clifton and wife Rebecca; sisters, Starla Moinat Bell and husband David, Ashley Hechler, Melissa Cruitt and husband Chip, Janice Baker and husband William “Bill”, Olivia Martinez and husband Andrew; girlfriend Alyssa Morris; aunts and uncles, Glenda and James “Bo” Henry, Carolyn and Jim Derrisaw, Nancy Garland; numerous nieces and nephews, Xayvion, Lyric and Norman; Josiah, Sarah, Reagan, Shawn, and Kieran , numerous cousins and friends.
Friends are cordially invited to the visitation with the family on Monday, August 14, 2017 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Jeter Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 311 N. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, TX 77546, (281) 992-7200. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at 10A.M. at the Jeter Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at the Hayes Grace Memorial Cemetery in Hitchcock, TX.
Pallbearers are Keegan Martin, Reagan Israel, Shawn Israel, Josiah Baker, Isaiah Barrett, and Zoey Lambright.
