He was predeceased by: his parents, Helen Armstrong and William Arlie Armstrong Sr.; and his grandson Justin Lujan. He is survived by: his wife Sheila Armstrong of Santa Anna; his children, James Armstrong of Albuquerque, NM, Chris Berry of Carlsbad, NM, Heidi Rivera of Santa Anna, Stefanie Stork of Santa Anna and Monika Stork of Santa Anna; and his brother Bill Armstrong of Boerne, TX. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
