He was predeceased by: his parents, Peggy Jean Elrod (Bowery) and Horace Elrod; and his grandparents, John William and Johnnie Bowery. He is survived by: his wife Connie Lee Purdom of Gainesville; his daughters, Tracy Michelle Ullmann of Callisburg and Johnnie Leona Hicks of Sanger; his siblings, Jenny Francis Laycock of Lindale, Eddie Jean Stockton of Denton, Kathy Evans Burkhalter of Allen and Michael Don Evans of Tyler; his grandchildren, John Hunter Ullmann (Ashleye Hope) of Valley View, Michael Jay Ullmann (Kaitlyn Christine) of Ponder, Brandon Dwayne Hicks of Sanger, Jimmy Lee Ullmann of Hawaii and Riley Avery Moore of Sanger; and his great grandchildren, Kayson Jay Ullmann, Kaleb Ray Ullmann, Kyler Hunter Ullmann, Kodah Dalayne Ullmann, Adelyn June Ullmann, Stetson Ross Hicks, Montana Brooks Hicks, Grayson Lee Ullmann and Paislee Forester.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Coker Funeral Home (403 Pecan St, Sanger, TX 76266). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Bolivar Baptist Church (6690 Farm to Market 455 W, Sanger, TX 76266). A burial was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Bolivar Cemetery (6918 Farm to Market Rd 455, Sanger, TX 76266).
