He is survived by: his wife Judy; his children, Penny Childers, Deidre Dunham, Rachel Sharp, Jonathan Hoops, Victoria Hoops (Tori), Michael Collins Hoops and Mikayla Shaver; his sons-in-law, Ray Childers and John Sharp; his parents, William Edgar Hoops, Jr. and Kathleen Carter Mixon; and his siblings, William Edgar Hoops III and Tammy Annette Vent.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Boy Scout Troop, 3030, in Sanger, Texas, or to cancer research.
