He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Wayne Yates and Mary Evelyn Hammond Yates; his wife Frances Lorraine Crabb Yates; and his daughter JoAnn Yates. He is survived by: his children, Maryellen Brown of Borger and James Yates (Sharee Ledesma) of Dallas; and his sister Carol McGehee (Dick) of Norman, Oklahoma.. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; two great grandchildren.
