She was predeceased by: her parents, Chester T. Carpenter and Hazel Gannaway; and her siblings, Cathryn Kunkel, Margaret McCall, Joyce McCall, Christi Carpenter and Wayne Carpenter.
She is survived by: her son Brian Bessent; her granddaughter Alexis Patterson (Leki Tago); her great grandchild Asher Tago; and her cousin Jean Bishop. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
