He is survived by: his wife Elida Salazar Vargas; his children, Chriselda Vargas, Linda Vargas Lopez (Manuel Lopez) and Anthony "Tony" Ruben Vargas; his grandchildren, Joel David Hernandez (Evelyn Hernandez), Adrian Alcántar Jr., Marvella Lopez, Marla Katelynn Lopez, Isabella Ortega, Elian Anthony Vargas and Alisa Danielle Vargas; and his great grandchildren, Eileen Joellie Hernandez, Mia Karenny Hernandez and David Gael Hernandez.
Visitation was held on Sunday, March 9th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Memorial Funeral Home - San Juan (311 E Expressway 83, San Juan, TX 78589). A prayer was held on Sunday, March 9th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Monday, March 10th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Memorial Funeral Home Chapel (311 E Expressway 83, San Juan, TX 78589). A burial was held on Monday, March 10th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Val Verde Memorial Gardens (6200 N Val Verde Rd, Donna, TX 78537).
