It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Raquel Salinas of Pharr, Texas, who passed away on February 18, 2025, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. As Raquel departs from our midst, her spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Raquel. Though Raquel may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Joaquin Barrera and Regina Barrera; and her son Raul Eduardo Salinas. She is survived by: her husband Manuel Raul Salinas Jr.; her children, Emilia Salinas, Manuel Ricardo Salinas (Norma), Debbie Salinas and Lori Suarez (Eddie); and her siblings, Florencio Barrera and Linda Martinez (Pete). She is also survived by eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 23rd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Memorial Funeral Home - San Juan (311 E Expressway 83, San Juan, TX 78589). A rosary will be held on Sunday, February 23rd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish (216 W 1st St, San Juan, TX 78589). A burial will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Palm Valley Memorial Gardens (4607 N Sugar Rd, Pharr, TX 78577).
