He is survived by: his wife Idolina Gorena Vela; his sons, Ariel Jesus, Omar Joel and Hiram Josue Vela (Caitlin); his grandchildren, Vanessa Marie, Issac Ariel, Vivian Alyss, Nydia, Noah Christopher and Sophia Rose Vela; his brother Carlos Vela (Enedelia); and his sisters-in-law, Irma Trevino (Kiki), Anadelia Willingham (Jesse), Hortencia, Janice and Anita Vela.
