He was predeceased by: his mother Catalina Munoz. He is survived by: his wife Minerva Avila; his children, Ernesto Avila Jr. (Marisela), Adrianna Rubio (Carlos), Alejandra Avila and Ricardo Avila (Evelyn); his grandchildren, Ivan, Valeria, Camila, Arnoldo, Alondra, Olivia and Oscar; and his siblings, Rafael Munoz, Heriberto Martinez, Maria Borbon and Rosa M. Munoz.
