He was predeceased by: his parents, Raul Everett and Elvira Cervantes; his brother Richard Smithwick; his aunt Blanca; and his uncle Romeo Alaniz.
He is survived by: his wife Melissa G. Everett; his sons, Ruben "Bubba" Everett Jr., Joe Daniel "J. D." and Omar Ramirez (Kristen); his grandson Omar; his daughter Venessa Everett (Esteban Diaz); his grandchildren, Victoria Lynn Diaz, Esteban and Diaz; his siblings, Raul "Cocin" Everett, Rene Everett (Christina), Joe Smithwick (Kim), Ronald Smithwick (Belinda) and Joann Smithwick; his stepsiblings, Jeffery Smithwick, Jeremy Smithwick and Judy A. Smithwick; and his parents-in-law, Elda Gonzalez and Ramon Gonzalez (Margie). He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, brothers in law, and sisters in law.
