He is survived by: his wife Georgia Parr-Hughes of San Diego, Texas; his children, Gilbert Hughes Jr. (Cathy Lynn) of San Diego, Texas, Audrey Ann Hughes, Dakota Grossman of D'Hanis, Texas, Lyza Renee Hughes (Victoria D. Lopez) of San Antonio, Texas and George Evon Hughes; his siblings, Rebecca Perez (Alfonso, Jr.) of Kingsville, Texas, Rosalinda Saenz (Oscar) of San Diego, Texas, Idolina Luna (Nefi) of Corpus Christi, Texas, Maria Luisa Wright (Jose Rodriguez), Lisa Southerland (Jay) of Waxahachie, Texas, Porfirio Hughes (Angie) of San Antonio, Texas and Ruben Hughes of San Diego, Texas; and his grandsons, James Ram Hughes and Logan Ameri Grossman. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
