He was predeceased by: his parents, Matilde Martinez and San Juanita Martinez; his wife Minerva J. Martinez; his daughter Umbelina T. Gallegos; his siblings, Emma Sanchez, Zulema, George and Alejandro "Cano"; and his brother-in-law Jose Pena.

He is survived by: his children, David Martinez (Luanna), Adan Martinez Sr. (Lisa), Efrain Martinez Jr. (Raylene) and Cynthia Yvette Martinez; and his siblings, Matilde Martinez (Rosie), Raul Martinez and Angelina Pena. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
