He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Lacy and Dessie McKinney Lacy; his siblings, Claude Lacy, Jr. (Willie Pearl), John Edward and Jimmie Ruth; and his close friend Doris Arnold.
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Rae, Niyah, Laila, Joseph, Jaquay Steen, Randy Randoph, Ayshia Symone Rollins, Mahki Clifton, Mia Clifton and Micah Harris; and his sisters, Bonnie Raye, Billie Jean and Shirley Jean. He is also survived by his three sons, his 10 grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter.
He simultaneously implemented his "Brotha Bob" Sunday Morning Worship Program, burning CDs to donate and sell.
