He was predeceased by: his parents, Arcadio Escalante and Herminia Perez Escalante; and his siblings, Ruben Escalante, Jose Escalante, Maria Escalante and Juan Escalante.

He is survived by: his nephew Mateo; and his siblings, Rosalio Escalante (Rosie) of Freer, Texas, Billy Escalante (Ana Lisa) of San Diego, Texas, Margarito Escalante (Ramona) of San Diego, Texas and Sara E.. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
