He is survived by: his wife Darlene A. Owens; his children, William Scott Owens and Wendy Sue Owens Garcia; his sister Kathryn McConnell; and his extended family, Abel Fonseca (Michelle), Tyler Fonseca (Sarah), Brian Fonseca (Corinne) and Cody Fonseca (Summer). He is also survived by twenty-one grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 31st 2024 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Thomae Garza Funeral Home (395 S Sam Houston Blvd, San Benito, TX 78586). A funeral service was held on Thursday, October 31st 2024 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. The military honors was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 at 9:15 AM at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery (1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209).
