He was predeceased by: his parents, Pedro Belmares and Irene Hernandez Schorp. He is survived by: his wife Maria Herlinda Belmares; his daughters, Irene Suarez (Gabriel) and Ida Lucio (Cesar); his grandchildren, John Noah Belmares (Andrea), Netassja Jaide, Pedro, Jieah Gabrielle Lopez, Brianna Ramirez (Stormy), David Ramirez and Jay-J Carreon; and his sisters, Dora Caldera and MaryJane Schorp.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Thomae-Garza Funeral Home (395 S Sam Houston Blvd, San Benito, TX 78586). A rosary was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 from 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the San Ignacio Catholic Church (24380 US-281, San Benito, TX 78586).
