It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Luisa Mata Villegas (San Benito, Texas), born in Rio Hondo, Texas, who passed away on February 17, 2025, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her daughter Enedina Villegas. She is survived by: her husband Juan Manuel Villegas, Sr.; her children, Marisol Santana (Jaime), Juan Manuel Villegas, Jr. (Sarah), Marivel Villegas, Enedelia Garcia (Jose A. III), Jose Juan Villegas (Laura Garza), Ismael Torres (Irma) and Jesse Flores, Jr. (Imelda); her siblings, Faustino Mata and Angelita Mata; her grandchildren, Sol, Jaime, Jr., Santos, Diego, Rebecca, Adrian, Juan III, Gabriella, Julian, Emma, Jacob and John Maxen; and her siblings, Chica and Chewie.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Thomae Garza Funeral Home (395 S Sam Houston Blvd, San Benito, TX 78586). A rosary was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the St Joseph Catholic Church (1001 US-77 BUS, San Benito, TX 78586). A burial will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the San Benito City Cemetery North Sam.
