He was predeceased by: his brother Luis H. Leyva. He is survived by: his parents, Tomas Leyva and Bertha Leyva; and his siblings, Jose A. Leyva (Oralia), Carmela Meledres (Eduardo), Alma Rosa Leyva, Rogelio Leyva (Josefina), Veronica Leyva, Tomas Leyva (Lucia) and Oscar Leyva (Sandrivet). He is also survived by nephews, nieces, and other relatives.
