He was predeceased by: his parents, Juan Leal and Guadalupe Leal (Ortiz); his siblings, Jose, Manuel Leal and Juanita Sanchez (Leal); his son Bobby Leal; and his granddaughter Marissa Evonne Leal.
He is survived by: his wife Julia Leal (Briseno); and his children, Richard B. Leal (Margie C.), Norma Zamora (David), Sylvia Jimenez (Gerard) and Lisa Gonzalez (Mike). He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
