With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Teresa Salas (San Antonio, Texas), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 5, 2024 at the age of 99. She was predeceased by: her parents, Apolonio Cardenas and Juanita Cardenas; her husband Jacob Salas Jr.; her son Michael; her son-in-law Robert Ortiz; her grandchildren, Hannah Ortiz and Arte Muro (Oscar Cardenas); and her sisters, Alice Hernandez, Janie Trevino, Mary Torres, Vicki Luster and Ramona Martinez.
She is survived by: her children, Robert (Alice), Elizabeth Ortiz, Jacob (Joanne), Daniel, Andrew (L. Andrew Huff), Anthony, Thomas (Cathy) and Ernest Ovalle (Cindy); and her siblings, George (Nena), Horace Cardenas, Sylvia Gomez and Guia Grimalda. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 1 great, great grandson, many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 18th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, December 19th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Castle Ridge Mortuary West (8008 Military Dr W, San Antonio, TX 78227). A rosary was held on Wednesday, December 18th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the St Gregory the Great Catholic Church (700 Dewhurst Rd, San Antonio, TX 78213). A graveside service was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery (1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209).
