He was predeceased by: his parents, Lon Jr. Rushing and Zrayda Hobbs Rushing; and his brother-in-law Philip Ljungdahl. He is survived by: his wife Marla; his stepchildren, Jason and Jessica Day of Washington, DC; his stepgrandchildren, Lily and Calliope; his stepchildren, Josh and Lisa Day of Austin; his stepgrandchildren, Noah, Loralei and Nathan; his sister Patricia Ljungdahl; his niece Stacy Croft (Lloyd) of Galveston; his nephew Reagan Ljungdahl (Melissa) of The Woodlands; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Jeff Croft, Bryan Croft, Rock Ljungdahl, Riley Ljungdahl and Skye Ljungdahl.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, October 19th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (607 N San Antonio St, Sabinal, TX 78881).
