He was predeceased by: his wife Phyllis Harper (Joyce Glay); and his son Scott Harper Pinkerton. He is survived by: his siblings, Betty Modlin and William Pinkerton Jr. (Janet); his niece Lisa Horwich (Jim); his nephew Russ Pinkerton III (Alicia); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Jordan, Henry, Max, Madison and Penny; and his stepdaughter Kristen Shaner (Bill).
