He was predeceased by: his parents, George Harrell and Edith Clayvell Harrell; his siblings, George Harrell, Arthur Harrell, Rosemary Harrell Miller, Marjorie Harrell Genovese and Barbara Jean Harrell; his stepchildren, Ronald Bounds and Susan Bounds; his half-sister Bonnie Harrell; and his former wife Rosie.

He is survived by: his daughter Tammy S. Harrell Weinhold; his wife Pauline McIntosh; his stepsons, William Bounds, Daniel Bounds and Michael Bounds; his siblings, William Harrell (Deloris) and Sharon Harrell Decker (Samuel); his half-sisters, Mary Ann Bray and Lana Malone; his grandchildren, Shawna, Gabriel, Elizabeth Ashlee and Samuel; and his niece Stephanie Harrell. He is also survived by fourteen great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren.

Instead of floral remembrances, the family suggests that donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital to honor Robert K. Harrell's memory.
