He is survived by: his wife Mary Claire Cater; his children, Lisa Cater Hutson (David), Vanessa Wakefield and Robert Emmett Cater, Jr.; his stepchildren, Nancy Retzloff, Mark Retzloff (Tammie), Scott Retzloff (Stacy) and Matthew Retzloff (Monique); his grandson Randall Emmett Wakefield (Julie); his stepgrandchildren, Kourtni Retzloff, Payton Retzloff, Kyle Retzloff (Molly), Cole Retzloff (Bridget), Tyler Retzloff, Shane Retzloff, Quinn Retzloff, Ryan Retzloff and Jake Retzloff; his great grandchildren, Reese Wakefield and Rhett Emmett Wakefield; his stepgreat-granddaughters, Ella Claire, Maddie Rose and Elizabeth Ann Retzloff; and his nephews, Tim Jamail (Michelle) and Bryan Jamail (Maravec).
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church (4201 De Zavala Rd, San Antonio, TX 78249).
