He is survived by: his mother Dorothy Cardona-Gonzales; his stepfather Sergio Gonzales; his sisters, Brenda Cardona Ruiz (Roger), Evelyn Cardona-Barr (Curtis), Bertha Cardona-Villegas (Joe, Jr.), Michelle Cardona Esparza (Nathaniel) and Matilda Cardona-Mireles (Mark); and his sons, Robert Cardona III (Jessica) and Joshua Cardona (Breanna). He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, numerous nephews, nieces, and other relatives and friends.
