He is survived by: his wife Kay; his sister Jeanie Funk; his children, Richard Messer Jr. (Darlene), Perry Messer (Holly) and Cindy Miller; his grandchildren, Joshua Messer (Jessica), Jared Messer (Elise), Hunter Messer, Cooper Messer, Keller Messer, Piper Messer, Madison Miller and Ashlyn Miller; and his great grandchildren, Lincoln, Adare and Elena.
