She was predeceased by: her parents, Edmundo Garza and Belia Cortez Garza; her brother Edmundo; and her former husband Alberto Almeida. She is survived by: her children, Dr. Alberto E. Almeida (Sandra), Belia Almeida Ornelas, Monika Villarreal Colin and Lalo Villarreal (Alicia); and her brothers, Joel, Francisco and Fernando Garza. She is also survived by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
