It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Monico S. Mendoza of San Antonio, Texas, who passed away on February 9, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Elvira Mendoza, (Sanchez) and Juan Mendoza, Jr.; his wife Andrea "Sandy" Mendoza; his siblings, Santos Mendoza and Odilia Moreno (Genaro); his nephew John Anthony Rice; and his brother-in-law Dueane E. Rice, Sr..
He is survived by: his daughters, Cynthia Duron (Fred) and Monica Mendoza; his siblings, Dora Estell Bermea (late Felipe, Sr.), Oralia Cadena (Raul), Alfredo Mendoza (Edna), Richard Mendoza (Eva), Daniel Mendoza (Terry) and Carlos Mendoza (Rose); and his grandsons, Jacob and Justin Duron. He is also survived by 2 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hondo Funeral Home (2910 Avenue E, Hondo, TX 78861). A rosary was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church (2102 Ave J, Hondo, TX 78861).
