He is survived by: his wife Diana Meraz; his daughters, Polet and Salma (Greg Vargas); and his siblings, Gloria Ramos, Luzma Molina (Anselmo), Manuel Meraz (Ana), Yolanda Gamboa (Rubén), Ramón Meraz (Angélica), Jesús Meraz (Tere), Víctor Meraz (Blanca) and Óscar Meraz (Cecilia). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
