He was predeceased by: his parents, Manuel Sr. Valdez and Juanita Valdez; his wife Mary Guzman Valdez; and his sons, Eric and William Valdez.
He is survived by: his children, Daniel Valdez (Daneen), Deborah Perez (Ramon) and Jennifer R. Valdez; his siblings, Mario Valdez and Sandra Peña; and his grandchildren, Deserrae De Leon, Destenie Valdez, Lacie McElroy, Michael J. Valles, Jordan C. Valles, Klaudia C. Leija, Amethyst J. Valles, Ariana J. Arizola, Camryn S. Armendariz and Andrew K. Arizola. He is also survived by 32 great-grandchildren.
