He was predeceased by: his parents, Nicolas Alderete Barraza and Guadalupe Ballesteros Sepulveda; and his children, Blanca Estela Alderete Holguin, Guadalupe Alderete Holguin and Martin Humberto Alderete Gallegos.

He is survived by: the mother of his children Maria Rosario Gallegos Grajeda; and his children, Cruz Edith Alderete Ramirez, Manuel Alderete Gallegos and Jose Antonio Alderete Holguin. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren.
