He was predeceased by: his parents, Antonio Jr. Muñoz and Isabel Muñoz; his in-laws, John Sr. and Dora Sosa; his daughter Dora Elizabeth Muñoz; his great grandchild Avery Huschka; and his brothers, Jose Antonio Muñoz and Jesus Muñoz.

He is survived by: his wife Janie Sosa Muñoz; his sons, Leo Muñoz (Kim) and John Anthony Muñoz (Becky); his grandchildren, Nicole Huschka (Stephen), Garret Muñoz (Ana), Mia, Ali and Isa Muñoz; his great grandchildren, Mia G. and Emersyn Munoz; his sisters, Rosario Valero and Carmen Cisneros (Mauro); his extended family, Renee (Chance), Aspen, Dylan, Colt McGrath, Taylor Walker and Sawyer Sedbrook; his siblings-in-law, Lupita Muñoz, Magdalena Muñoz, Margaret Castro, Mary Helen Sosa, Romanita Sosa, Frank Sosa, John Sosa Jr., Mauro Cisneros, Sabino Garcia and Gerardo Castro; and his friends, Richard Garza and Joel Rosas. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
