Hernandez; his great grandchildren, Azaleah Hernandez, Maya Hernandez, Zinnia Hernandez and Jaxon Hernandez; and his siblings, Gaytano Hernandez, Porfirio Hernandez (Irene), Phillip Hernandez (Celia), Panfilita Hernandez and Gina Groome (Patrick). He is also survived by relatives and friends.

A rosary was held on Monday, April 28th 2025 at 6:30 PM at the MeadowLawn Chapel (5611 E Houston St, San Antonio, TX 78220). A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, April 29th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Blessed Virgin Mary Cemetery (14011 FM 1346, St Hedwig, TX 78152). A burial was held on Tuesday, April 29th 2025 at 11:15 AM at the same location.
