He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Alicia Alaniz, Rogelio Alaniz, Malinda Maldonado, James Maldonado Sr. and Nancy Vasquez.
He is survived by: his parents, Rachel Vanegas and Herbert Vanegas Jr.; his children, Joshua Maldonado Jr. and Abella Maldonado; his brothers, Herbert Vanegas III, David Vanegas (Carla), Robert Vanegas (Audra), Jeremy Vanegas (Precilla), James Maldonado III and Tristan J. Vanegas; and his aunts and uncles, Orlando Alaniz (Elizabeth), Rogelio Alaniz Jr., Norma Chavez (Robert), Deborah Alaniz (Tony), Rose Gamboa and Rita Valverde. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
