He was predeceased by: his father Salvador Fernandez; and his brother Salvador Fernandez Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Adelina Morales; his sons, Damien Mendoza (Kim), Jose R. Fernandez Jr. (Alyssa), Luis R. Fernandez, Joseph R. Fernandez, Andreas Fernandez and Joey Fernandez; his grandson Michael D. Mendoza; his mother Concepcion Fernandez; and his siblings, Dora Cortinas (Mario), Patricia Garcia (Juan), Francisco Fernandez and Carmen Juarez (Roberto). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
